Stop Concessions at Wayfarers State Park

This summer Montana State parks will be implementing a commercial beach side concession that will be renting non-motorized water craft as well as selling sundries.

This concession is exclusive in nature and creates a monopoly in Wayfarers state park.

This will negativity impact local businesses in and around Bigfork that for years have been providing these services by way of delivery to the park.

This concession will take up beach space once enjoyed by park visitors, and will intrude on the natural setting of the park. Commercializing this public space contradicts the mission of Montana state parks of "preserving and protecting our state's natural beauty".

This particular concession will be setting a precedent for other concessions to be permitted in the park. Especially services that are already being offered locally outside the park.
