Stop Carbon School District in Price, Utah from throwing away U.S.D.A. food

A problem exists in the Carbon School District in Price, Utah with the waste of tax money.

The U.S. Government sends U.S.D.A. food to the lunch program be used in the schools. For a number of years we have received more than we could use. We are having to throw away tens of thousands of dollars worth of food every single year because it is spoiling in our warehouse.

This is done by putting a pallet at a time on our trucks then going to all of our schools and throwing part of it in every schools dumpster. This way it was hoped that no one would know how much waste that we had.

When I would tell Pattie Rigby that too much food was going to waste because we were accepting more than we could use she would tell me that we could not refuse part of it. ( Pattie would rather waste it then to turn it down )

I Craig Houskeeper worked for the Carbon School District for 25 years 24 of those years were at the Warehouse. I am now retired and that is why I can come forward.

I have a record of items that we threw away the last year that I worked in the Warehouse and it was $20,287.74. The year year before that it was $23,990.61.

I have photos of this food in the dumpsters and recommend that sending U.S.D.A food to our district require this waste be stopped.
