I wish it to be added to the already enforced law (listed below) which prevents employment discrimination that we also not be discriminated against based on our appearance choices such as piercings, tattoos, and hair color. It should be our right to look in a way which makes us feel confident and comfortable as an individual. It does not hurt any one and there is no real grounds for this discrimination.
Some may not like the way these things(piercings, tattoos, etc) look.. but some may also think someone's natural physical appearance is unattractive.. should they to not get a job or hide their face at work because they are considered ugly by the employer? We should not be denied employment based on our looks period.. whether it be our skin color, our tattoos, or our bone structure. It is WRONG and needs to be made illegal.
On the subject of body piercings some employers say that it is a matter of safety in that this jewelery can become tangled or caught on equipment. If this be the case the employee should be allowed to then switch out hoop jewelery with a stud which does not dangle and thus cannot snag.
Also in the event that a tattoo is offensive such as nudity it should then be hidden from view of customers and other employees. Otherwise, they should be permissible.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which
prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
We, the undersigned, call on our congressmen/women and government to stop the discrimination against potential employees and employees based on appearance. We request that we not be turned away or asked to hide what makes us feel best as individuals such as piercings, tattoos, and unnatural hair colors.
Just as we are not to be discriminated because of our skin, religion, sex, or national origin we shall not be discriminated against for the way we look based on another's personal opinions.
These things do not inhibit our ability to perform our duties nor do they harm anyone. Our society should move past any and all discrimination and hatred of others for how they look. We are all human beings with hearts and god given talents and should be treated as such.
