We the undersigned are opposed to Amendment 40 of the City of Swan Local Planning Scheme 17 in its current form (as endorsed by Council on March 2 2011 and currently before Hon John Day Minister for Planning for final approval) on the basis of:
• Inadequate community consultation and non-transparent processes.
• In its current form Amendment 40 lacks legal clarity.
• It provides no practical alternatives for those people who will be adversely affected by its implementation.
• Furthermore people in the North Ward of the City of Swan were not adequately represented during the debate on this Amendment at the City of Swan Council meeting on March 2 2011.
We therefore request the City of Swan to immediately withdraw Amendment 40 from Minister Day to allow further consideration and comprehensive community consultation with all interested residents and ratepayers of the City of Swan on this matter.
