Stop Amazon from killing us

My name is Jessica Martinez Santos, and before all else, I am the devoted mother to two young kids. My priority, as I assume is every parent’s, is to ensure my child makes it to adulthood safely and healthily. However, due to the city of Gilroy allowing the development of project AS 20-23, that goal is gravely threatened. The current modern digital economy is aiming to fill its pockets at the expense of our local resources, mental health and physical wellbeing.
In a region already grappling with the detrimental consequences of climate adversity, our state of severe drought will only worsen. An area that prides itself for agricultural production and tranquil environments, will see all of this loss due to greed.
As a parent, not only am I worried about the short term effects that could impact my ability to live, I am greatly terrified for the consequences my children will face in the long term. With the climate of the world already so polarized and terrorizing, it is our duty to prevent such a disastrous event.
