In order to better serve both Realtors and clients in the St. Louis and St. Charles real estate community, we're asking MARIS to change the way schools can be selected for listings (and thus searched on our websites).
Currently when a listing is entered into MARIS it is a freeform field, that allows any spelling for any school. All spellings then feed to the Schools field of the search on local area websites. (e.g. Lindberg, Linbergh, Lindbergh H.S., Lindberg H. School, etc) This makes it difficult for consumers to receive accurate results when searching.
Some local websites have chosen to display the less specific 'area' which represents school districts but does not meet our clients' needs.
The fix for this would be for MARIS to create a simple drop down for agents to choose from when entering the school for a listing.
We, the undersigned, call on MARIS to please update the way schools are selected for listings in the mls to create a better data feed so that we Realtors and our clients can search real estate by individual schools (and not just districts/areas) on our personal websites.
