On October 31, 2017 members of the College of Coastal Georgia Basketball team deemed it necessary to kneel during the National Anthem. This to me is a sign of disrespect towards our college and our country. Some students have claimed that it wasn't about the National Anthem, it was about standing against police brutality. This act was also done by other College of Coastal Georgia teams.
We the undersigned, believe that if these students do not want to stand during the National Anthem and represent the school and our country, then the student athletics fees that are forced upon every student to pay should be refunded. We believe that paying these fees are a sign of representing these students. Therefore, all athletic fees forced upon students should be stopped and/or refunded.
