Over the past five years South Africa has been facing the pandemic of Gender-based violence, regardless of the topic making headlines in all media platforms, it is getting worse each and every year. Unequal power between two genders in South Africa has contributed to women and children being mostly the victims of this national crisis. Since 2025 South Africa takes number one spot in the world's rankings of GBV. Depression, Suicide and unplanned pregnancy are the result of the unheard voices of the victims. As much as men do experience this pandemic, femicide is the serious crisis in our country.
We, the undersigned, call on the law enforcement agencies and South African government and leaders of the community to take decisive action and consideration to end the pandemic of Gender-based violence. There should be a stronger enforcement of the existing laws, support for Gender-based violence survivors and new ways of protecting women and children. Together we fight against the national crisis, Gender-based violence must never be tolerated in our society. End Violence and protect human rights for all.
