Campus Uilenstede is a pleasant, unique place to live for students. Unfortunately it is also unique in the sense that not all flats (or towers) are closed for non-residents. That means that everyone is able to walk in, take the stairs or elevators up to the 13th floor. In the past this has led to problems with homeless people and beggars. This week a very worrying incident happened, whereby a tenant was threatened with a knife. As a tenants organization we cannot tolerate this anymore.

Campus Uilenstede is een prettige en unieke plek om te wonen als student zijnde. Helaas is het ook uniek, omdat het een van de weinige plekken is waar flats (of torens) niet afgesloten zijn voor niet-bewoners. Dit betekent dat iedereen zomaar naar binnen kan lopen en de trap of lift kan nemen naar de 13e etage. In het verleden heeft dit geleid tot problemen met zwervers en bedelaars. En ook deze week heeft een incident plaatsgevonden waarbij een bewoner is bedreigd met een mes. Als bewonersorganisatie kunnen we dit niet meer tolereren.
To make the Campus Uilenstede more safe and in order to enhance the feeling of safety the VBU wants all towers to be closed by an intercom-system and secured with safety cameras. If you share this point of view, please sign here!
