The A83 is a lifeline route within Argyll and Bute. There are a number of significant difficulties and problems along the route which have a massive negative impact to the communities, businesses and tourist opportunities in the area.
In the days of a recession which is impacting on all walks of life the both public and private sector the A83 compounds this for all making the recession within Argyll even more hard hitting. We have fragile rural communities who are totally reliant upon this lifeline and therefore we are asking for support to bring this vital issue to the attention of the petitions committee.
We have support from 2 local on line information sites if you require any further information pleas go to

We the undersigned request that the Scottish Government address the many issues which currently exist on the A83.
Namely the unacceptable situation which exists at the Rest and Be Thankful, the pinch points on the road at Inveraray and between Lochgilphead and Tarbert,
The lack of safe crossing points at Ardrishaig and Tarbert, and finally consider trunking the road between Kennacraig and Campbeltown.
