Having scrapped the School League Tables, the Welsh Government have now introduced a School Banding Programme.
This development has been roundly opposed by Teaching Unions and other interested parties.

Ar ol cael gwared o dablau Ysgolion mae Llywodraeth y Cynulliad bellach wedi cyflwyno trefn o fandio ysgolion.
Mae hyn wedi cael ei wrthwynebu gan Undebau Athrawon a chyrff eraill.
We believe that the school banding system introduced by the Welsh Government is inherently unfair and does not provide a comprehensive view of a school's performance.
We believe it to be a proxy for league tables, and risks creating a stigma when schools are named and shamed, causing a cycle of decline with parents and teachers abandoning schools in the lower bands.
We call on the Welsh Government to scrap School banding and introduce a constructive evaluation process which leads to targeted support to remedy poor performance in schools.

Credwn ei fod yn ddim mwy na phrocsi ar gyfer tablau ysgolion, ac yn bygwth creu stigma wrth i ysgolion gael eu henwi a'u cywilyddio, gan greu cylch seithig wrth i rieni ac athrawon adael ysgolion yn y bandiau isaf.
Galwn ar i Lywodraeth y Cynulliad i gael gwared o'r bandio a chyflwyno proses arfarnu adeiladol fydd yn arwain at gefnogaeth wedi ei dargedu ar gyfer ysgolion sy'n tanberfformio.
