The recent political upheaval and inducement of the international community and youth across Nigeria has again become more worrisome than ever.

Hate speeches have become more prevalent and dangerous as Nigeria approaches the 2019 general elections. There is immense concern surrounding the safety and security of voters especially when considering the country’s history of violent elections.

Majority of the casualties of election violence are the YOUTH! Their lives and futures at stake in order for them to carry out their Civic Duties. Rarely are there casualties among the Political elite who’s selfish and primordial sentiments fuel wanton destruction of lives and property

According to the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), the risks of violence in Nigeria’s 2019 elections are high. Can the African Giant build off the success of its historic 2015 elections or will electoral violence impede progress? The 2019 elections have finally come close amid growing tensions along international, ethno-religious and regional lines in a country where the presidential campaign cannot be won without forming alliances. As politicians jockey to forge such alliances with the hope this will realize their political ambitions, a slew of mischievous and sinister plots to make the country ungovernable in the event of unfavorable outcomes.

The 2019 elections are crucial test of the robustness of Nigeria's Democratic consolidation. Coming 20 years after the restoration of democracy in Nigeria, these elections are the first to include Nigerians born in 1999, youth who have never known dictatorship and therefore is a good test of their apathy or enthusiasm.

We, the Nigerian Youth in Nigeria and the Diaspora are seeking the world’s solidarity and motivation to guard Nigeria.
