The California Condor is nearly going extinct, a little under 500 left in the world. They aren't the most pleasant looking birds but they have a huge role in our ecosystem because they're decomposers, meaning they clean our envrironment from waste. Humans are the reason why these animals are dying. Power lines, lead poisoning, and getting shot by hunters. We may not be able to control all deaths of endangered species, but this one can definitely be prevented.
We, advocates of the California Condors, call on the Bay Area Open Space Council to create more land for the Condors to settle in. In order for California Condors to keep the environment stable they need an open space to reproduce and be away from harm, such as power lines, hunters, and lead from bullets.
