It cannot get any stranger in West Virginia.
Just when you thought Governor Tomblin and his cronies would be happy just sitting back watching West Virginia continue to rank at the bottom in education, personal liberty and job creation, they come up with banning bunnies.
That's right, a new rule by the Department of Agriculture and its “Wild and Dangerous’ Animal Board has decided to ban bunnies, certain fish and birds, crayfish and sugar gliders.
Or make you PAY FOR A PERMIT to keep them!
This is nothing but another revenue generating scheme brought to you by the State of West Virginia.
Forcing you to pay $100 per pet for a special permit!!!
You can read the list of proposed so called ‘banned’ pets here- http://apps.sos.wv.gov/adlaw/csr/readfile.aspx?DocId=25971&Format=PDF
The West Virginia Liberty Political Action Committee is fighting this insanity, but we need your help.
This rule change will come up for a vote in the 2015 West Virginia Legislative Session, and we need to demand that our elected representatives reject this scheme.
Please sign our petition and demand that your local state legislator refuse to support this attempt to bribe you to keep your pets!
We the undersigned demand that our State Legislature reject the so called ‘Wild and Dangerous’ animal registration and fund raising scheme created by the Department of Agriculture.
We further reject any attempt by the State of West Virginia to bribe us to keep our current pets, or obtain new ones.
And finally we will hold accountable any elected state official that attempts to bribe us to keep our pets or tell us what pets we may have.
You can further help this campaign by sponsoring it
