Save the Yellowknife Family Centre

The Yellowknife Family Centre has been asked to vacate its premises by the end of June. The Family Centre is funded by Health Canada and sponsored by Yellowknife Catholic Schools. Yellowknife Catholic Schools is currently looking into housing and partnering possibilities with other organizations. On July 13th, 2016, the Yellowknife Catholic School Board will make a decision on the continuation of the program.

The Yellowknife Family Centre has been a resource program for young families in Yellowknife for over 20 years. Its program provides comprehensive educational, developmental and social support to families in a family atmosphere. The loss of the Yellowknife Family Centre would be a huge impact to the community of young families. We would not only loose the toy, book and educational resources available, but the safe, comfortable place for parents and children to interact and learn from each other.

Please raise your voice and sign this petition if you would like to see the Yellowknife Family Centre find a new location and continue its programming here in Yellowknife.
You can also help by writing a letter to your MLA, to the Honourable Alfred Moses, Minister of Education, Culture and Employment, or come to the Board meeting on July 13th to show your support for the Yellowknife Family Centre.
