The Willunga Escarpment (Southern Mt Lofty Ranges) surrounds the South & Eastern views of suburb Aldinga Beach.
This iconic semi-rural landscape delivers the very qualities that give Aldinga Beach its semi rural feel and peaceful ambient characteristics within this Beach side suburb
The City of Onkaparinga have implemented planning policy 'Targeted Infill Precinct 36' to the Southern side of Aldinga Beach Rd.
This policy seeks dense apartment/block flat 3 storey development fronting Aldinga Beach Rd, opposite the existing District Centre Zone.
Such height of development and short road frontage will remove views of the Willunga Escarpment from the District Centre and remove views from areas right across the suburb of Aldinga Beach taking with it the towns identity and semi - rural feel.
We the undersigned,
1. Call on the City of Onkaparinga, too remove 'Targeted Infill Precinct 36' from the development plan directly opposite the Aldinga District Centre Zone and specifically the area located on the southern side of Aldinga Beach Rd.
2. That the Council implement planning policy that delivers adequate setback from Aldinga Beach Rd and development height that ensures views of the Willunga Escarpment are retained from the District Centre & surrounding areas of Aldinga Beach.
