West Balcatta Primary School currently has two Type A school crossings. Type A school crossings are manned by a traffic warden who is trained and employed by the State Government.
Recently the school was informed that one of the Type A crossings will be removed and that the school may have the option of applying for a Type B crossing instead.
Unfortunately Type B crossing wardens are not paid for by the State Government. This means that the West Balcatta school community will have to pay a warden or provide volunteer wardens.
Both of these options are very difficult for this small school community.
We, the undersigned, call on the Minister to retain both Type A school crossings for West Balcatta Primary School in order to best ensure the safety of our children.
