EDENVALE CPF DISBANDED

On the 23rd of October 2017, the CPF Board of Edenvale was called into a meeting with the Executive Management of SAPS Edenvale.
A letter was handed to SAPS Edenvale from the Police Commissioners office, stating that Kempton Park CPF has been disbanded,
but the CPF Board was told that it applied to Edenvale and Kempton Park CPF was a typo and an error.
The CPF Board asked for clarity and the a new letter was issued yesterday Monday 30th October with Edenvale CPF as the Subject.
The reason for disbanding the CPF was detailed as the following:
"The Edenvale CPF is dysfunctional due to total breakdown of relations between the elected members and police."
The management of SAPS Edenvale has assured the CPF Board that they have not issued this statement and are unsure where it came from, they have infact said everything to support the CPF and have placed media releases to this fact. We have in fact created a great working relationship with the police and at our Last meeting we received the backing of the entire Edenvale Saps Executive so the grounds that we have had breakdown between CPF and police is not correct at all. Not once has anyone ever voiced an objection to us through the correct channels and not once has anyone tried to make contact to discuss this issue.
The CPF has contacted the National Civilian Secretariat and Gauteng Board for Community Police Forums to help us understand how to move forward.
This meeting will happen shortly.
It is important to note that the following structures are unaffected and will continue as normal.

3. CPF Patroller Programme
We firmly believe in the unity of Edenvale and since the restructure of the CPF Board in September, we have had thousands of residents
send their support in various ways. In trying times like this, we need you the community to stand with us and help us help you.
We the undersigned hereby call on the Gauteng CPF Provincial Board and all other authorities involved to reinstate the Edenvale CPF under its current "New" Executive based on the fact that the reasons given for disbanding the CPF are not accurate at all. The reason for disbanding was stated as a complete breakdown in communication between the New CPF and the police, and all attempts to unite the parties have failed.
