Riverside are planning to build up to 100 new houses on the green spaces in the centre of Netherley off Middlemass Hey and Vancouver Road. These green spaces provide a large place where children can play, people can walk their dogs and support nature within an urban area. We believe that building on this green space in the very heart of Netherley will be a major loss to the area.
The doctors’ surgery has already been threatened with closure on several occasions, lacks a permanent GP, and is very difficult to get an appointment at. Local shops are poor and one school is already at or above capacity. Our local facilities are not sufficient to accommodate another possible 400 residents in an already compacted area.
Our target with this petition is to stop Riversides’s plans to build over our green spaces.
