Driving Standards Agency (DSA)

United Kingdom

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) are planning to close the Driving Test Centre in Kidderminster open, as they believe "it doesn't meet modern standards and would be too expensive to repair". The DSA have already closed the Test Centre in Quinton so there is already a localised strain on test availability. The DSA have ignored Wyre Forest District Council's calls for a rethink and have refused their offer of assistance in locating a new site in the town.

Along with local driving instructors, councillors and other members of the public. Wyre Forest Conservative Future are fighting to keep Kidderminster's Test Centre open. It would be disgraceful for young people from the district to have to drive to Dudley or Worcester to take a test that is a horrible enough experience as it is.

The residents of Lower Gornal and Worcester will certainly be inconvenienced by a sharp rise in the number of tests by them once Kidderminster closes. For Lower Gornal it will be easily another 4,500 tests per year, an increase of 50%. There are already complaints about the current levels.

We, the undersigned, oppose any decision by the Driving Standards Agency to close Kidderminster driving test centre.

We support the campaign to keep it open.

The Save Kidderminster Driving Test Centre petition to Driving Standards Agency (DSA) was written by Wyre Forest Conservative Future and is in the category Roads & Transport at GoPetition.
