The Post Office announced plans on 19 Feb to close the Highgate High Street Post Office as part of its London Area Plan. Residents have until 2nd April to oppose the closure before it takes effect.
David Heath, Labour Party Candidate in the Highgate By-Election, is campaigning against the decision and has launched a petition (paper and on-line) that he will deliver to the Post Office and the Government.
“The Post Office is vital for the residents and businesses in Highgate and its closure would threaten the High Street’s commercial viability.” said David “The alternative post offices in Archway and Highgate Station are too far away for village residents and businesses. I will campaign vigorously against the closure.”
We, the undersigned, believe that the Highgate High Street Post Office is a vital resource for Highgate residents and businesses and that the alternative post offices at Archway and Highgate Station are too far away.
We call on the Post Office to keep the Highgate High Street Post Office open.
