Kingston Hospital is cutting its budget by 2.6 million and closing Derwent Ward, the area in Esher Wing which deals with rheumatology and haematology.
The cuts mean that one in ten medical beds at Kingston Hospital will be lost. Thirty-two health care assistants will lose their jobs.
Ed Davey MP campaigned on his record of protecting the NHS, but now he's joined a government that is cutting nurses, beds and wards. He should condemn the cuts to the NHS.
We, the undersigned, call on on Kingston Hospital not to close Derwent Ward. We also call on Ed Davey MP and Kingston Council to condemn the job cuts and ward closure at Kingston Hospital and across the NHS.
