Sign the petition if you don’t want council to pull down our delightful kiosk buildings either side of the railway station as they propose to as part of the Balaclava Walk Project.
At Council 24 September 2012 meeting I submitted to Council a request to soften the language of the document to retain the Railway Station Kiosk Buildings, to form a Community Reference Committee for the duration of the three public transport projects 1. Rail station Upgrade 2, Balacalva Walk Project and 3. the tram Super stop on Carlisle Street and to commit to ongoing briefings to the community on the designs of these projects – the devil is always in the detail
Mayor Rachel Powning sought an amendment to the Officers recommendations to include
Point 1 Review of the following statement on page 3.2 and other of this nature in the Masterplan:
to read further discussion with the community and analysis
Point 2 To form a community Reference Group to oversee these projects and the Coles Carpark redevelopment project
NOT ONE COUNCILLOR SUPPORTED THE WARD COUNCILLOR & MAYOR ON THIS MATTER OR AN ASPIRANT COUNCILLOR FOR A PROJECT THAT WILL CHANGE THE NATURE OF BALACLAVA
This is not a Council that supports community involvement. I intend to change that if elected.
