Save "At The Movies"!!!!

I've been watching this show religiously for over 10 years and it deeply saddens me to know it will be canceled. Aside from the most important reason why this show needs to stay on the air, some of the small things about the show comes to mind that I will dearly miss. One is the sassy music. It was replaced momentarily but came back with open arms.

It will always be a tune that will play in my head after I watch a great movie. I'll also miss the current pair of critics for their deeply insightful reviews. We all know Siskel and Ebert are legendary to say the least. However, these 2 do not receive the credit they so deserve. I will also miss watching past reviews on their website should ABC decide to take it down. I love looking back at the past reviews after watching a great movie.

In the end though, the most important reason why we need this show is the fact that they shine a light on movies that otherwise cannot be known to the masses. With so many movies these days that are completely dumb-downed and pointless, without the clever discussions and light banter that the show creates for us on television, movies that can enlighten and influence people cannot be promoted strongly enough for more of the general public to see, which then will lessen movies such as 'Whale Rider' and 'You Can Count On Me', (two of my favorite films that I would otherwise have never been able to discover without the show), from being made in the future. I know I'm not alone on this, and hopefully enough people can rally together and save this show from cancellation.
