Members of the S. French Broad community have expressed concern about safety issues at the intersection of S. French Broad Avenue and Bartlett Street. This intersection has been the site of several accidents.
There is a stop sign when coming from Bartlett Street though no stop sign when on S. French Broad which is a heavily travelled street. There is a slight incline when approaching the intersection, which makes approaching cars difficult to detect when making a turn at the intersection.
There have also been complaints from residents about drivers speeding near this intersection. There is a bus stop, a church, and a middle school near this intersection which increases the amount of foot traffic crossing in this area.
It was suggested that a four way stop sign could increase safety and reduce speeding in this area.
As residents and/or frequent travellers of S. French Broad Avenue and Bartlett Street, we, the undersigned, request that a four-way stop sign be implemented at the intersection of these streets to increase safety for residents and travellers.
