The areas mentioned at Chittaway Bay and Tumbi Umbi have long been a cause for concern for local residents and commuters who frequently drive east along Wyong Road during peak hour periods. What is an 8-10 minute trip in light traffic can more often then not turn into a 20-30 minute journey(approximently), in heavy traffic due to serious congestion at the mention roundabout intersections.
With increasing population in the area and major residential and industrial developments it is very clear to members of the community that a strategic upgrade and development of the intersections is absolutely necessary.
A unity between the local community, the local and state governments and the NSW roads and maritime services for transport is of high importance in order to effectively plan and redevelop each of the two highlighted intersections. This will help to assist in the easing of congestion and in moving Wyong Shire into a more structured and free flowing future for road travel.
We, the undersigned, call on Wyong Council, The New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services(RTANSW) and The New South Wales State Government to unite in taking action for the strategic development and upgrading of Wyong Road on the NSW Central Coast in the Wyong Shire.
Specifically the Roundabout intersection of Enterprise Drive/Chittaway Road/Wyong Road in Chittaway Bay 2261 and the Roundabout intersection of Wyong Road/Mingara Drive/Tumbi Creek Road in Tumbi Umbi 2261.
