Petition Action Due To Lack Of Response From River Market Board of Directors
On Sunday, September 8, about 125 Co-op members attended a 2-hour meeting at Bayport Library billed as a Listening Session. A number of Co-op members presented a great many issues which should concern all in the River Market community. To date, we have had three meetings where we voiced our concerns (one was a special session) where Co-op members filled the hallway outside the room where the Board meets because the capacity of the room is too limited to accommodate everyone who arrived.
While the Board is probably gravely concerned by much of what was presented at these three sessions, they have yet to respond to the issues raised. More people were in attendance at the Listening Session than usually arrive at the Annual Meeting. Many of the issues raised are inter-related and pertain to the vitality and continued existence of River Market (see the first petition posted on the website). It would seem expedient and healthy for this Board, which members have elected, to go on record with their response before October 8th to open the way for a productive Annual Meeting.
This petition requests such a timely response in the form of a “Coming Together” session.

We, the owners/members of the RMCC, are petitioning the Board to schedule a "Coming Together" session prior to the Annual Meeting on October 8th of 2019.
During the 3 meetings in August and September, it was stated that our points were being taken SERIOUSLY, yet we have NOT RECEIVED a single communication from the Board despite having supplied our email addresses for IMPROVED transparency.
At the least, the expectation was set that all questions would be made available for review to confirm our VOICE was heard correctly and the Board's time and efforts to address our concerns would not be WASTED.
Prior to the requested session, we kindly ask the aforementioned concerns be made available to the membership in an effort to hold an open, efficient, and effective meeting.
