We are among millions of Americans who hold Sanctity of Human Life as a valid, Bible based doctrine of faith. The 1973 Roe v. Wade legalization of abortion resulted in federal subsidies of the abortion industry.
If abortion is a private decision, why do we have to pay for it, through our taxes?
Our Declaration of Independence states clearly that "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their CREATOR, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." We believe that these words were intended to refer to all members of "humanity", including those born and those in stages of prenatal development.
The Preamble to our Constitution states that "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." We believe that this word "posterity" is broad enough to include those human beings not yet born, regardless of developmental stages. We believe that the Supreme Court legalization of abortion does not pass any of these litmus tests for just laws.
Both the fifth, and fourteenth, articles of amendment to our Constitution contain words that state that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. We believe that this word "person" is broad enough to include all stages of human development, from conception to death. We also believe that "due process of law", as related to the deprivation of human life, is not satisfied in the cases of abortion on demand.
We believe, and declare, that any legalization of abortion, in the past, in the present, or in the future, by any branch of government, is repugnant to the Declaration of Independence, to the Constitution, and to the laws of the supreme CREATOR of the universe.
We, the undersigned American citizens, agree with the above statements, that the Right to Life, secured by our founders for ourselves and for our posterity, is a God given and unalienable right. If this basic Right to Life is not secure for our posterity, neither is it secure for any of us.
We, therefore, petition for immediate redress of this grievance.
