Many residents who work during weekday business hours cannot attend current meetings every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 2pm.
A Saturday evening schedule would increase accessibility, transparency, and civic participation.
Weekend meetings would allow families, working citizens, and community organizations to engage more directly with local government.
We believe this change will strengthen public trust and ensure that government deliberations reflect the voices of all residents.
We, the undersigned residents of Augusta-Richmond County, respectfully petition the Augusta-Richmond County Commission to amend its meeting schedule so that regular Commission meetings are held twice monthly on the first and third Saturdays of each month at 5:00 PM, rather than on weekday afternoons.
