As many of you may know a 16 year old girl was abducted from in front of her home in a rural community in central Alberta.
Although her abduction was considered to be suspicious she did not meet the criteria for the Amber Alert system according to the provincial mandate.
I believe there needs to be some changes made to give the RCMP the ability to decide if any teenager goes missing under unusual circumstances, an Amber Alert can be issued before the 24 hour wait.
I think that this will give the RCMP and volunteers the time advantage when a teenager goes missing.
We the undersigned call on the Canadian Government to make an amendment to the Amber Alert System that will allow the RCMP to issue and Amber Alert when any teenager goes missing under suspicious circumstances regardless of suspect information ie: Visual description of the offender or their transportation.
