This petition requests the current trial of imposing blanket curfews (Late Entry Declarations)on all late night trading entertainment within areas of Sydney be ceased immediately.
This petition seeks for the numbers of police on active duty at night to be increased to address late night violence on the streets.
This petition seeks to support all current Sydney Late Night Entertainment Venues who display good RSA management practices to maintain their legal right to accept incoming patrons at any time during approved business trading hours.
We, the undersigned, request that the Minister for OLGR Mr Graham West, The Lord Mayor Ms Clover Moore, all Sydney LAC Commanders and the NSW Commissioner for Police Mr Andrew Scipione work in agreement to achieve an immediate cessation of the current practice of "trial" blanket lockout restrictions being imposed on liquor licensed entertainment venues in the Sydney area.
We the undersigned request that each entertainment venue be individually be assessed for harm minimisation and that any imposed liquor license restrictions are based on and supported by factual evidence of specific, individual poor liquor management practices by each venue licensee.
We the undersigned request that the youth, adults & visiting tourists of our Sydney community, be supported by ensuring the provision of adequate numbers of appropriate late night, supervised, safe and culturally diverse venues for entertainment.
We the undersigned request that the thousands of staff currently employed in entertainment venues across Sydney be protected from job losses which have been proven to occur in other NSW areas where these blanket curfews have been imposed.
We the undersigned request our civil right be maintained to gain access at any time to the public entertainment provided at licensed entertainment venues during the course of approved trading hours, unless we have been individually assessed as legally unsuitable patrons by acting venue management.
We the undersigned request an immediate increase in funding of the amount of active, visible police officers required to address the problem of violence on the streets at night for the growing population of Sydney.
