FLOODING OF AZURE APARTMENTS
1. RESIDENT CALLED 911 AND ASKED WHAT WOULD BE DONE ABOUT THE FLOODING OF INDIAN CREEK IN MARION WHICH AZURE IS LOCATED NEXT TO... RESIDENT WAS TOLD THAT ITS WANS'T AN EMERGENCY.
2. AZURE MANAGER CALLED POLICE AND ASKED WHY WERE WE NOT NOTIFIED... POLICE SAID THAT THE FLOODING HAPPENED TOO FAST AND THAT IF WE HAD A HEALTH EMERGENCY THAT THEY'D SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO.
3. AZURE MANAGER CALLED CITY OF MARION FOR SAND BAGS AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE AZURE APARTMENTS DOESN'T PAY THE CITY OF MARION TO COLLECT OUR TRASH THAT WE WERENT ELIGIBLE FOR SAND BAGS
MANAGER SAID WELL THESE CITY OF MARION TENANTS PAY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF MARION ISN'T THAT WORTH SOMETHING THE REPLY TO THAT STATEMENT WAS YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE THAT UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
4. THE CITY OF MARION WAS THEN FINALLY PUT ON THE NEWS THAT WE SHOULD DO A VOLUNTARY EVACUATION THIS WAS AFTER AN HOUR OF FLOODING ALTHOUGH THE AZURE MANAGER HAD ALREADY NOTIFIED AZURE TENANTS THAT THEY SHOULD EVACUATE.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Marion to realize that as a whole Iowa was undertaking mass flooding. We truly understand that we are blessed that we are able to write and sign this petition.
We the tenants of Azure Apartments want to be assured that the next time these nature of events happen that we are NOT to be singled out as if we are refugees in our own city, town, state, country!!
We are taxes paying citizen of Marion, Iowa. So please don't take us for granted the next time these events should take place.
