The rates we pay in the Strabane District Council area are based on house valuations from 2005; our homes are not valued at those prices any more yet we continue to be charged the high rates as though they were.
Land and Property Services have not publicised any plans to review the valuations on which our rates are based.
This petition is to make homeowners in the area aware of this and to lobby the council to revalue our homes and base the rates we pay on today's house prices.
We the undersigned call on Land and Property Services to review the valuations of residential rate payers properties and adjust the rates payable according to current valuations.
