General Musharraf Chief of Army Staff has imposed emergency and removed all judges of the superior courts of Pakistan. Some of them have been reinstated under a Provisional Constitutional Order which in effect is oath of allegiance to him.
This has caused the following consequences:
1. The independent judiciary has been done away with.
2. Musharraf has removed judges to avoid any likely unfavorable judgement against his re-election as President.
3. Thousands of suo moto applications against the corrupt regime have been consigned to dustbin by this action.
4. The Chief Justice of Pakistan who was a symbol of hope and justice has been removed creating a sense of non-security among the common masses leading to instability of the country.
We agree to the following:
1. Support the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Iftikhar Choudhary and write and address new chief justice as PCO Chief Justice.
2. Request target organizations to take cognizance of the situation and use their influence to restore removed judges.
3. Boycott attorney general, advocate generals and new judges who took oath under PCO.
4. Boycott Generals and Ministers of the present set up.
