Request Mn move to shelter in place

Dear Governor Walz

We the undersigned are health care providers on the front lines of this impending disaster. We are writing to URGE you to push for an immediate and full lockdown of the state of Minnesota.

As the news spreads and with our first Covid 19 death; it is apparent how bad this situation is going to quickly get. Our hospitals, like most, are woefully understocked on personal protective equipment for our staff, and we will imminently run out. As we start to see a surge of COVID-19 patients, doctors and nurses will also get sick, and we will run out of people to care for the patients. We anticipate that many of us we will need to be on the front lines; but other health care workers, who are not comfortable caring for the critically ill will also need to step into those roles. I anticipate that the care our patients will receive (some of whom will certainly be your friends or family) will be akin to what you might expect in a war zone. My friends at other hospitals across the state share my concerns.

I am URGING you to push for an IMMEDIATE and FULL lockdown of the state of Minnesota, to help mitigate this impending disaster. I am asking for no more from my fellow Minnesotans than what I WISH I had the option to do myself - sheltering in place. The time for this action is NOW.
