Remove "straight-ticket" voting from Utah voting machines

We must remove the straight-ticket voting option from voting machines in the state of Utah (the option to automatically select every candidate from one single political party on a ballot). Utah is one of the ten remaining states that offer straight-ticket voting. We cannot hold on to a detrimental system (https://ballotpedia.org/Straight-ticket_voting).

Straight-ticket voting encourages political ignorance and voter apathy. It is our duty and obligation as American citizens and Utah residents to adequately educate ourselves for upcoming elections - or at the very least keep an open eye and ear for the political actions of our representatives. The men and women we choose to represent us MUST be held accountable and responsible for their political activity by voters who are aware and active, not simply associated with a certain political party. The minuscule amount of convenience this option provides is not worth it.

Straight-ticket voting also encourages blindness and over-dedication to political parties. The culmination of our two party system resulted in two extremely questionable and unsuitable front runners for the 2016 Presidential election, leaving many voters frustrated and dissatisfied. Removing straight-ticket voting will help combat a broken aspect of our political system.

Additionally, various bugs and errors have occurred from the use of the straight-ticket option. Votes are susceptible to malfunction and not counting properly after selecting the option. We cannot allow blatant inaccuracies to further hurt our voting process.

In correlation with an ongoing physical petition list, help us follow the example of 41 of our neighbor states and stop relying and supporting a negative feature of the voting process.
