There is a re-zoning proposal for 188 acres of the Mills Farm at the SW intersection of Pleasant Grove Road. It is to be rezoned from A-1 to C-2 & RMF-24B (Commercial and Residential Multifamily Rentals 24units/acre). The RMF-24B is 22 acres of very high density rental property and C-2 is 166 acres of commercial property.

The request is not consistent with the long-term city plan. Twenty-two acres of RMF-24B (residential multi family with 24 units/acre) to our knowledge is unprecedented in Rogers. There is no allocation made for graded zoning as a buffer to the single-family homes. Nearly 500 nearby residential families directly south and southwest will be affected by this rezoning. We are concerned about increased traffic and its impact on safety for the nearby residential families and property to the west owned by the Rogers Public School district, potential noise and light pollution, and lack of a buffer.

The Rogers Planning Commission will vote on this rezoning proposal on Tuesday, March 21st. Please join us in opposition to this and request that the Rogers Planning Commission vote no to the current re-zoning proposal!

We, the undersigned, oppose the re-zoning proposal for 188 acres at the SW intersection of Pleasant Grove Road and I-49 from A-1 to C-2 & RMF-24B.

The request is not consistent with the long-term city plan. Twenty-two acres of RMF-24B (residential multi family with 24 units/acre) to our knowledge is unprecedented in Rogers. There is no allocation made for graded zoning as a buffer to the single-family homes. We encourage the planning commission not to approve any rezoning proposals until there is a plan submitted that can be reviewed.

We are concerned about increased traffic, its impact on safety for the nearby residential families and property to the west owned by the Rogers Public School district, potential noise and light pollution, and lack of a buffer. By way of this letter, for these reasons, we urge you to reject the current re-zoning proposal.

Thank you for your service to our city, and please feel free to contact any of us should you have additional questions.
