A joint report by The East of England Regional Assembly and the Department for Communities has identified the need for 1220 more Gypsy Camps in Eastern England with a provisional figure of 87 for Chelmsford.
This could amount to around 1,200 Gypsies from all over Europe arriving on Chelmsford soil.
The people of Chelmsford appreciate their environment and will not tolerate any abuse of their Greenbelt areas.
Chelmsford Council should do whatever it takes to protect our environment, even if it means withdrawing financial support and termination of our membership from the East of England Regional Assembly.
We, the undersigned, call on Chelmsford Council to reject plans for any more Gypsy camps and if neccessary withdraw membership from the East of England Regional Assembly.
