On Monday 12th February 2007 Ivica Kostelic was disqualified from the Men's Giant Slalom due to a plate on the top of his bindings being too thick.
The rules state that the distance between the bottom of the running surface of the ski and the sole of the boot must not exceed 55 millimetres and qualifying has been introduced here for the men's giant slalom and slalom for the first time at a major event to limit the number of participants.
We, the undersigned, call on the FIS to either reinstate Ivica Kostelic into the Men's Giant Slalom event at the World Championships, or if that is not possible to at least apolgise in public to Ivica Kostelic, the Croatian team and the Croatian nation.
