Thank you to everyone who signed the petition. The bus services serving the British Library and Bilton have been saved at least until April 2019. The new timetable is available at https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/bus-service-changes-and-news. The number of buses running throughout the day have been reduced, unfortunately, and the following services have not been reinstated - the 16:20 from Wetherby to York and the 17:20 from York to Wetherby. However it is positive that the service still covers the working day. We will continue to put pressure on to ensure that the service continues beyond April.
From 25th November 2018 Connexions will no longer be running the 412 bus services which serves Bilton in Ainsty and Thorp Arch Trading Estate (07:40 from York to Wetherby and 17:25 from Wetherby to York). In addition the 16:20 from Wetherby to York will be cancelled. The services being cancelled are a life line for those who work along the route as well as those who have to attend appointments and are without a car who live along the route. The buses are often used by older members of the public as well as people with small children and the withdrawal will mean that they are cut off from essential services. Those who use the buses to get to work have no other option in terms of transport. Additionally the services have been withdrawn with too short notice for passengers to find another solution.
We, the undersigned, ask North Yorkshire Council to maintain the funding required to run the 412 bus services which are being withdrawn (07:40 from York to Wetherby and 16:20 and 17:25 from Wetherby to York).
