-Whitman County already has the current maximum number of allowed cannabis retailers: 5 within city limits and 2 in the county.

-Producing and processing cannabis creates air pollution and noxious odors.
-The cannabis industry attracts crime and lowers property values.

As a resident of Whitman County, I feel it is vital for us to promote public health and safety, protect our environment, and use county resources wisely.
I support a prohibition on new marijuana producer, processor, and retail businesses, license transfers, and related land use in unincorporated areas; best practice regulations to protect health, safety, and the environment should be adopted for those businesses operating prior to the moratorium.
