How long must the American people suffer fools such as James Holmes, the man arrested for the Colorado massacre? My petition is NOT asking to take away citizens' rights to own a gun as that is provided for in the Constitution.
I am asking for reform such as the following:
1.) Ask business venues such as movie theaters, arenas, places where there are huge gatherings to install metal detectors;
2.) Put a cap on how many incendiary devices one can purchase (parts for bombs, nitro, etc);
3.) Ban assault rifles from the general populace, only for law enforcement individuals;
4.) Mandatory mental health screening before
purchasing a gun;
5) Implore business owners to hire security guard.
If all of the above items listed in my petition had been in force that fateful evening in Colorado perhaps not one life would have been lost?
As you can see, I an NOT asking for the second amendment right (gun ownership) to be taken from the populace, just a better system of safety for all of America.
That's what we all desire isn't it? If not then we have only ourselves to blame when a tragedy such as this happens.
