As you might be aware, tamil and Hindi speaking population are in increasing number in South West Sydney.
This is evident from the size and the number of students studying these languages in saturday classes in greater sydney, especially in South western sydney.
It is time that these languages are being recognised in the main stream schools and a greater recognition in terms of funding for second languages
We, the undersigned request the recognition and inclusion of Tamil and Hindi as a second language in NSW public schools and request greater funding for the same. The Mayor of Liverpool has supported our claim and addressed a letter to the State Education Minister, Rob Stokes in this matter.
