A. Hamilton School and Recreation Center is located on the 130th and 132nd block of Kinsman in Councilman Zack Reed's Ward.
The school is scheduled to be torn down and the recreation center is connected to the school. The problem that the community faces is that the people in the community do not have any facilities to utilize recreationally, which means that the community is losing its youth to the streets because of this problem we face.
The people in this community have to leave their community and go utilize another community's facility and they shouldn't have to. I am proposing that instead of tearing down the school the City of Cleveland should consider investing in to keeping the gymnasium and making it a part of the recreation center; in the event they have to tear down the gymnasium while tearing down the school then at least the City of Cleveland should consider rebuilding the gymnasium and making it a part of the recreation center.
This might give the youth as well as the adults an alternate motive other than the streets.
We, the undersigned, are asking for The City of Cleveland to consider not tearing down the gymnasium at A. Hamilton School, but rebuilding it, so that A. Hamilton Recreation Center doesn't lose the youth in the community to the streets.
