Real BiPartisan Solutions for Gun Control

Real Bi-Partisan Solutions for Gun Control is a petition requesting the U.S. federal government to review and update the current standards of firearms laws while introducing new solutions to regulation and safety that do not infringe upon the right to bear arms while addressing societal concerns. We, the undersigned, call on U.S. lawmakers to make firearms law changes as follows:

1. Required basic safety course to obtain permit to purchase any firearm. Legal purchase age to 21 from 18 years.

2. Psychological exam with no less than 3 visits at fixed national rate every 5 years upon license renewal to establish mental capacity and intent for purchase of any assault rifle, concealed weapon, high capacity magazine, or NFA certification.

3. Mental capacity limitations to firearm possession to include lawfully diagnosed conditions, diseases, and users of schedule 1 narcotics.

4. Concealed carry limited to one pistol per individual. No change to transportation number.

5. Secondary sale limited to back to manufacturer, police/government repository, lawful distributor.

6. Gun shows limited to manufacturers and licensed distributors.

7. Manufacturer to include in all production and sales a locking case preventing complete access and imbedded/tamper-proof GPS chip in firearm to be used only in case of theft.

8. Legal concealed carry extended into pistol free zones except hospitals and airports or otherwise indicated given additional training and certification beyond CPL. Lawful concealed carry assists in immediate order, something law enforcement can only hope to achieve.

9. Magazine capacity limited to 20 rounds unless certified as stated above (e.g. a single full-size pistol may have a standard capacity of 17 rds. Round capacity has no direct effect to reducing intent to commit violent crimes.

10. Violent criminals barred from ownership/possession of firearms for a minimum of 10 years depending on severity of crime.

11. All media banned from release of image of accused, family, and associates – it only serves to promote separation of culture and race, honors the criminal, and tries accused before due process.

12. FCC restriction on violent video games and television where characters take human form and employ weaponry, simulating killing. Visual displays of hand-to-hand combat should be permitted, generally lacking in the finality of death (e.g. sports like boxing, UFC, wrestling, etc.).

13. An online registry for "whistle-blowing" which serves as a reporting system for suspicious activity pertaining to firearms in which after so many strikes an individual must be evaluated, perhaps psychologically.
