THE PETITION
As concerned traders, taxpayers, and local customers of Blackheath, we have been adversely affected by the construction of Blackheath bypass scheme. As a direct result numerous problems have been created, including: congestion, less parking including for disabled, major safety issues in the local roads and a considerable loss of turnover for traders.
DESIRED OUTCOME
We believe the best solution to overcome this problem would be for Sandwell Council to re-open Park Street, incorporating one way traffic, with removal of chevrons, this will allow the following benefits:
√More parking
√Easy access to the market, including for disabled
√Ease congestion within the town centre
√Removing accident hazards in surrounding roads
√Increasing use of the bypass
√Better air quality
√traders return to satisfactory turnover.
