Rankin & AATW

As you my already beware, it has become apparent that one Gordon Rankin has been (or at least had one track) signed by AATW Records.

If you have heard of the name, and are over the age of 13 then you will no doubt know that this guy has flooded the internet with illegal, pitched up versions of other artists tracks and just added out of key/time acapella's from other artists.

When doing this, he has claimed these to be his own material giving no credit whatsoever to the original artists and therefore tricking the unwitting children into thinking that these are infact genuine, original tracks. It has been stated at www.attwc.com that Rankin has indeed signed a deal with AATW because AATW want to cash in on the mislead children that think Rankin is great.

We know that Rankin has never shown any talent with regards to producing, remixing, song writing, engineering.....I could go on.....and its basically been said that all he has done is '...come up with an idea' and that the 'signing' has nothing to do with talent, hard work etc, etc.......so, it looks like he will stand in the background while someone creates a track for AATW, they will then use Rankin's name to once again fool all the children and hope that they have enough pocket money to go out and buy it because it says Rankin on the cover.

We think this is disgusting and a shame to see from such a well regarded label and it gives out some very bad messeges with regards to piracy, downloading from P2P networks and all the rest of it that the media are always saying is really causing the business a problem. Also, all the aspiring producers and artists that are constantly told to be creative, work hard and be original etc etc are basically now being told there's an easier way into the business.....rip off some well known artists by spending five minutes speeding up someone elses track and then call it your own!
