What is Rachel's Challenge?
Rachel Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine shootings on April 20, 1999, was a teenager who vowed to change the world. After her death, her writings were discovered for her plans for peace and tolerance in the world in journals, school papers, even furniture.
To memorialize Rachel, a challenge was set up to be sure that, even after her death, she will still accomplish her dreams.
Rachel's Challenge team members would come to our school, speak to us for one hour, then train us in groups for 45 minutes about how to take this challenge.

We, the students, faculty and parents of New Iberia Senior High, New Iberia, Lousiana, recognize the need to improve the environment at our school, therefore, request the placement of Rachel's Challenge in our school, beginning the fall of 2008.
