Local Sculptor, Bob Coffee, has been commissioned to produce an interactive sculpture of Austin cultural icon Leslie.
Leslie is essentially the origin o the Keep Austin Weird slogan.
The sculpture proposed is of Leslie in his regular transgender outfit sitting on a city park bench. Ione hand is poised for a drink and the other for a cigarette (this is where the interactive part comes in!). We have proposed that this sculpture be placed at the corner of East 6th Street and Congress Avenue, one of Leslie's usual haunts.
We the undersigned call on the city of Austin and Art in Public Places to assign the corner of East 6th Street and Congress Avenue as the desired location for an interactive sculpture of Austin icon Leslie.
