For years we’ve been asking for public toilets in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, a popular and heavily used park by families, dog owners, and people of all ages who just want to enjoy the green space. In December 2018 Council agreed to build public toilets, with construction to proceed in 2019. Budget has been allocated to building the facilities. So where are they? Accessible, well designed, gender free toilets will make our park a better and safer place to be for everyone. It’s not acceptable to still be waiting. In addition, there are workers such as delivery drivers who need access to public toilets during the day.

We call on the Inner West Council to immediately commence construction of public toilets in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. Council promised the community these toilets would be built in 2019. This park is popular and well used and the community deserves well designed, accessible, gender free public toilets. As well as the families, dog owners and others of all ages who use the park, there are not enough public toilets in central locations accessible to workers in the gig economy who are on the road without access to a workplace toilet. Build the toilets now.
